About BioTone¶
BioTone is a biometrics company building multi-signal, on-device identity verification for commodity smartphones. The goal: deliver high-assurance authentication and continuous re-authentication without requiring specialized hardware, dedicated kiosks, or shipping a user's raw biometric data to the cloud.
What we build¶
- Recognition models for several biometric modalities (face, iris, palm, ear, voice, and others). Each modality has its own capture, quality, and matching pipeline; see Concepts for the underlying science.
- Multimodal fusion — combining independent signals (for example, palm + iris + voice) so that no single capture or single spoof attack can unlock an account on its own. See Multimodal Biometrics.
- Liveness / presentation-attack detection (PAD) to defend against photos, masks, replays, and synthetic media. See Anti-Spoofing Techniques.
- A developer API so other product teams can call our enrollment, verification, embedding, segmentation, and quality endpoints from their own apps. See the Developer Portal.
What this wiki is¶
This site is a reference. Two parts:
- Concepts — modality- and topic-level explainers (face, iris, fingerprint, palm, gait, voice, fusion, anti-spoofing, fairness, privacy, image quality, datasets and benchmarks, deployments). Useful whether you use BioTone or not.
- BioTone — the section you are currently in. A short set of pages on terminology, standards, the knowledge factor, and how we think about responsible use.
What this wiki is not¶
- Not product documentation. For SDK usage, endpoints, pricing, and access, go to the Developer Portal.
- Not marketing collateral. For company news, customer stories, and contact, go to the main site.
- Not a substitute for vendor-specific or jurisdiction-specific legal review. The standards and responsible-use pages are pointers into public norms, not legal advice.
